September is Library Card Sign-Up Month and everyone is invited to get a library card and participate in the following:
Library Card Design Contest: Call for Submissions
- Community members are invited to design a limited-edition library card to be distributed in 2026 in honor of our 20th Anniversary in the new library building.
- The contest is open to ages 14 and up.
- One entry per person.
- Entries are due by September 30.
- A library staff committee will select the winning design.
- The artist of the winning card design will win $100.
- For eligibility and full details, view the attachment below or pick up an entry form at the library.
- Use the library's logo to enhance your design (Or, email paige.besmen@kentfreelibrary.org to request the logo files)
Community Boards - Why I Love My Library
- Write a note or share a drawing sharing your favorite part about our library. Materials will be provided on the first floor and in the DuBois Children's Room.
First-Time Library Card Sign-Up Raffle Baskets
- To encourage NEW library card sign-ups, anyone who gets their first library card with us will be entered to win a prize. Raffle tickets can be used to enter to win a Reading Basket or an Off the Wagon Basket. Both baskets will be on display at the Check Out Desk in September.
Library Card Selfie Contest
- Anyone with a Kent Free Library card can enter this social media activity.
- Simply follow the library on Instagram and Facebook.
- Post or send a selfie with your library card during September.
- One winner will randomly selected to receive a $50 Kent Card from Main Street Kent.
