Board members are appointed by the Kent Board of Education. Trustees are responsible for the overall governance of the library and its budget, overseeing the provision of library service to meet the needs of Kent City School District residents, and hiring a Library Director and Fiscal Officer.
Applications to serve on the Board of Trustees are available annually in September at the Information Desk and considered by the Board of Education at their December meeting.
For Trustees appointed in 2026 and later, terms will be four years instead of seven years.
