Applications to serve on the library's Board of Trustees are currently available at the Information Desk. Applications are due by October 12, 2026 at 5 pm and will be considered by the Board of Education at their December meeting.
Board members are appointed by the Kent Board of Education. Trustees are responsible for the overall governance of the library and its budget, creating policies, overseeing the provision of library service to meet the needs of Kent City School District residents, and hiring a Library Director and Fiscal Officer.
For Trustees appointed in 2026 and later, terms will be four years instead of seven years. Trustees serve without compensation.
