Mango Languages Now Free through Kent Free Library
Thanks to a grant from the Institute for Museum and Library Services to the Ohio Web Library, the Kent Free Library and other Ohio public libraries now offer free access to Mango Languages. Mango Languages is an online language-learning system that uses real-life situations and actual conversations to more effectively teach a new language. By listening to and repeating after material designed from native conversations, you'll not only learn the individual words and phrases, you'll know how they're used in practical situations and conversations.
Choose from 35 languages, from German, French, and Spanish to Croation, Pashto, and Indonesian. Mango also has English As a Second Language courses for native speakers of 15 different languages and offers a translator to give you the "gist" of conversations from one language to another.
The library also provides access to dozens of other fun and valuable databases--check them out on the Research Topics page.
